Old Friends. Good Food.

tonight i got together with my old friend kelly from guam and her husband, ryan. she wanted japanese and requested that i pick a restaurant in SF. using the oh-so-helpful yelp, i found Koo. the atmosphere of the restaurant did not stand out for me but what it lacked in atmosphere it made up for in the food.

to start off i ordered the "a spoonful of happiness" and that is exactly what it is. simply put: it is orgasmic. this picture does not do it justice.

spoonful of uni, quail egg, tobiko, ponzu & ankimo wrapped w/ whitefish, truffle-oil & a shot of chilled sake

i also ordered the "tokyo crunch" it was very good and the ingredients were extremely fresh.

what a great end to a great weekend. nothing compliments good food like good company.
